Responsibilities:

The Trust and Safety Manager (TnS Manager) will report to the Director of Marketplace Development, eBay Southeast Asia, and will be the direct lead for Trust and Safety in the region. The role encompasses synthesizing Trust and Safety policy and conducting relevant analysis related to selling activity on eBay’s website, specifically related to cross border trade. The Trust and Safety Manager will lead the conception, design, implementation, and presentation of data analysis to support improving CBT selling and improving the buyer experience on eBay. The successful candidate will be able to translate large amounts of data into succinct business conclusions and use the analysis to provide critical insights for the business that will ultimately drive revenue. Successful execution of this role will require that the Trust and Safety Manager be an expert in database record manipulation (mainly SAS/SQL) along with the ability to manipulate complex data (mainly Excel/VBA, Excel PivotTables, SQL Server) for reporting, formulating and solving complicated business problems. In addition, the TnS manager will present extensively to the senior management team requiring the candidate to have excellent communication skills and the ability to translate complex quantitative information into presentations that are easily understood by general management.

Requirements:

Essential attributes include superior skills in financial and statistical analysis, as well as a passion for analyzing complex data sets. Skills in SAS, SQL, Excel/VBA, Excel PivotTables, and SQL Server are must haves and the ability to translate data into meaningful insights to drive strategy. Candidate should have a balance between analytics and the business and be able to ultimately tie the numbers back to the business. The candidate should also have strong communication skills both verbal and written and a proven track record as a team player. There is a strong preference for candidates with a high level of energy and enthusiasm, and an excellent sense of adventure, fun and humor. It is helpful to have a good understanding of eBay and a familiarity with Internet / e-commerce companies in general.
