I’ve only been in my current job for 1 year, but I’m already planning to resign. Is it too soon? I don’t fit in, management is fickle-minded and like to make sudden, drastic changes with no warning, and the colleagues… honestly, most are narcissistic and just here to clock in & clock out. No passion, no real effort. Just doing the bare minimum to get by. All this while I’ve been breaking my back trying to do my best, but now I’m starting to think it’s just not worth it anymore...

i think people in singapore are struggling to find happiness. dont you think? When I take the MRT, I notice everyone is always rushing, eyes glued to their phones, hardly anyone has the mood or time to talk. Everything is about work, work and work. Literally everyone is working to survive, that's the main focus. not to mention the long working hours. OT is common, but when they finally reach home, they are too tired to do anything else.

Been through that! I worked so hard, only to realize the team just didn’t care. It made me question why I was giving my 100% when everyone else gave 20%. Leaving was the best choice I made. If you start doubting, leaving is the best option..

For me, it’s definitely not too soon to consider moving on if you’re feeling this way. A toxic environment and unpredictable management can really drain your energy and motivation. Your effort deserves to be appreciated, and if it’s constantly met with negativity or indifference, it’s okay to prioritize your well-being. It's not worth it to stay..

1 year? it's a fair period to go find other place la. If you're unhappy, why stay? Just explore..

I’ve been thinking about how both sides take a chance when starting a new job. Even with great interviews, sometimes it takes months to see if the partnership truly fits. It’s a reminder that hiring — like any relationship — requires openness and mutual learning.

Every company has fickle bosses and bare-minimum coworkers. That’s just work life. If you can’t deal with it here, you might struggle anywhere else too. Just my thought..
