I’ve been in an admin role for five years, and my salary is still stuck at $2.9k. I have a poly diploma, so I’m starting to wonder if this is just the norm or if I’m actually underpaid. I see job listings offering higher pay for similar roles, but every time I try to negotiate or apply elsewhere, I get told my experience isn’t “strong enough.” Is admin just a dead-end for salary growth? How did others in this field manage to increase their pay—did you have to switch roles or upskill?
