Got a $5k/month salary offer, and while it sounds decent, I’m not sure if it’s enough for a comfortable life in SG. With rent, transport, and food prices, will it stretch far enough? Some of my friends say to take it, but others think I should push for more. How do you even calculate what’s "enough" here? Would love to hear how others evaluate offers in this city where everything seems expensive!

$5k/month can work, especially if you keep a simple lifestyle, but it’ll be tight depending on where you’re living.

It’s definitely a tricky one. $5k can work for a decent lifestyle, but if you’re planning to live centrally or in a private apartment, it could get tight. Don’t forget things like health insurance or any other hidden expenses. My approach is to track the basics.. rent, transport, food.. and see how much you have left for discretionary spending.
