Just sharing: My boss said the company will be closed for Christmas and New Year. Since I’m on probation with no annual leave, she mentioned she would absorb my pay for the off days. Honestly, I didn’t mind working instead. But on the first day of the holiday, she texted me to WFH on non-urgent tasks, expecting them done by our return. I can’t help but wonder—what’s the point of announcing a holiday if I’m still expected to work?

That's a red flag. If holiday, you shouldn’t have to work unless it was clearly communicated beforehand. Your boss is being weird thou
