Research Fellow (Chemical Engineering/Physical Chemistry/Materials Chemistry)
We are looking for a talented and creative postdoctoral research fellow to work on a project under the NTU-ExxonMobil Corp Lab. Primarily, we are looking for an individual dedicated to heterogeneous catalysis, thermochemical reaction engineering with extensive experience in employing advanced characterization techniques to probe the structure of catalyst active sites under working conditions and catalytic mechanisms. The project aims to develop reaction engineering approaches to tackle technical problems associated with the conversion of biomass to low emission fuels. The research fellow will work closely within a larger project team including chemists and computational chemists to develop a commercially viable low emission fuel process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Publish research results in high-quality international peer-reviewed journals.
- Participate in the daily running and maintenance of the research lab.
- Manage the day-to-day operation of the experimental apparatus.
- Procure chemicals and consumables.
- Mentor and co-supervise junior researchers.
- Work closely with industry partners.
Job Requirements:
- Ph.D. degree in Chemical Engineering, Physical Chemistry, Materials Chemistry, or a relevant field.
- Experience in operating thermal catalytic reactors is required.
- Extensive knowledge in operando and in situ catalyst characterization techniques is desired.
