Research Fellow (Carbohydrate Chemistry & Computational Chemistry)
The School of Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology (CCEB) invites applications for the position of Research Fellow.
The Research Fellow will take on a significant role to contribute to the design, computational modelling, and experimental synthesis of oligosaccharides, glycopeptides, and glycoproteins. The position aims to advance the synthesis and computational simulation of functional molecules, while enhancing the research profile and reputation of NTU.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct synthetic experiments on the research project related to glycoprotein/peptides for bacterial metabolic labelling.
- Perform computational simulations on cyclic and acyclic glycopeptides.
- Conduct independent research and publish in reputable academic journals.
- Mentor junior PhD students and undergraduate students.
- Lead scientific projects related to carbohydrate chemistry and peptide synthesis.
- Communicate research outcomes through written reports, publications, and presentations to audiences.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety protocols in laboratory settings.
Job Requirements:
- PhD in Chemistry or a related field, with a strong publication record (graduated within the past 5 years).
- Proficiency in carbohydrate chemistry; experience in peptide/protein synthesis is a plus.
- Experience in computational design and experimental synthesis.
- Good writing and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a collaborative, interdisciplinary research environment.
