Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and dynamic Network Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the implementation and support of routers, switches, and firewalls, as well as hands-on experience with network operations. This role involves significant client-facing interactions, making exceptional communication and interpersonal skills essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, configure, and implement network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and firewalls, ensuring optimal performance and security.
- Provide operational support, monitoring and troubleshooting network issues to minimize downtime and maintain high availability.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their requirements, deliver tailored solutions, and provide regular updates on project progress.
- Conduct network assessments, analyze performance data, and implement enhancements for improved efficiency.
- Ensure network security by configuring firewalls, applying updates, and adhering to best practices.
- Document network configurations, changes, and troubleshooting steps to support ongoing operations and knowledge sharing.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate network solutions with other IT infrastructure components.
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience in the implementation and operation of network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Hands-on expertise with networking protocols such as TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, and VPNs.
- Familiarity with network monitoring and diagnostic tools.
- Strong understanding of network security principles and firewall management.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in fast-paced environments.
- Exceptional client-facing skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent are highly desirable.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in client environments and delivering tailored network solutions.
- Familiarity with multiple firewall platforms such as Fortinet, Cisco ASA, or Palo Alto.
- Knowledge of cloud-based networking solutions is a plus.
- ITIL knowledge for incident, change, and problem management.
