ABOUT DIGITAL FACTORY

The Digital Factory was launched in July 2017 in Paris as a fully-fledged internal digital company whose mission is to accelerate the digital transformation of Thales and its customers. It now already hosts more than 230 experts in digital technologies (Cloud, Internet of Things, big data, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity etc) and methods (design thinking, lean start-up, agile software development) to develop innovative products in close collaboration with future users. The Digital Factory delivers first versions of new digital services in a few months to quickly test operational and business value, through Minimum Viable Products (MVP). With many MVPs already delivered in domains such as air traffic management, avionics equipment repair, drone operations, airport passenger experience, maritime traffic, metros maintenance, the Digital Factory allows Thales’s customers to quickly experiment new solutions at a rapid rate to improve their operations and customers experience.

We are looking to further strengthen our development teams in Singapore to provide our business lines and customers a technically innovative and user focused edge when delivering products and solutions.

ROLE DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

By joining us, you will own and handle the technical aspects of our MVPs (Minimum Valuable Products) or even contribute as a consultant within Thales Group’s projects or products. You will be the nurturing voice of technical development transformation within the Group by exemplifying the values of Digital Factory beyond its business lines.

KEY ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

As aTechnical Lead, you are accountable for:

• Set the expectations for the code quality and corresponding KPIs

• Setup and follow the application of the coding practices

• Actively contribute to the technical solution definition and improvements

• Contributing to the code development at least 50% of his/her time

• Assist the team to focus on cross/non-functional requirements

• Engage and role-model the pair-programming and pair-reviewing sessions

• Educate and mentor the junior developers to help them grow in their roles

• Actively contribute to the Technical Lead community within the Digital Factory


KEY KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

To be successful in your role, you will have demonstrated and/or acquired the following knowledge and experience:

You have a minimum of 8 years technical experience with 3 years of leading a team

• You are a strong communicator who communicates effectively across teams, locations and cultures, in-person and virtually

• You have already evolved in (or willing to immerse into) an agile and scrum environment

• You have the courage of convictions with a high degree of humility. Embraces constructive feedback and is resilient

• You prefer to work collaboratively with an iterative mindset, and engage your stakeholder to do the same

• You are open-minded

• You enjoy seeking feedback from your fellow peers; so you may benefit from them to optimise your technical practices

• You are autonomous and know how to adapt quickly and drive change for the better

• You are responsible for defining the non-functional criteria of the MVP, establish code conventions, well versed with design pattern, and branching strategies

Aerospace

Research, Technology & Innovation
