Process Technician
Job Description:
· Support the Shift Leader in pre-commissioning, commissioning, greenfield start-up planning, punch listing, site walk and equipment inspection.
· Support the Shift Leader in handling start-up, shutdown, daily operation and plant turnaround activities.
· Perform routine production activities such as sample collections, in-process quality testing, plant patrols & data logging, chemical preparations, and loading & unloading of chemicals.
· Perform troubleshooting to resolve operational issues and provide support to technical and maintenance teams.
· Monitor and inspect equipment and instruments and when required, take corrective actions to maintain safe and optimal operation of the process plant.
· Prepare equipment for safe handover to maintenance.
· Read production schedules, shift logs, analytical results and technology team recommendations to determine changes to equipment control and process adjustments.
· Update operating procedures and prepare maintenance package documentation for equipment maintenance activity.
· Perform Permit to Work (PTW) job site risk assessment, and issue PTW to achieve safe work executions.
· Perform emergency response in areas of firefighting, rescue, and loss containment.
· Perform housekeeping in the process area.
· Support efforts to improve profitability, safety, and reliability of facility.
· Provide mentorship to junior technicians.
Requirements:
· NITEC or Higher NITEC in Chemical Process Technology, Chemical Technology or Diploma in Chemical Engineering with 1-3 years of relevant experience in the petrochemicals industry
· Self-motivated and effective team player with good communication skills
· Basic understanding of industry HSE practices & process safety risks of petrochemical plants
· Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
· Able to perform 12 hours rotating shift work on Jurong Island
