Assistant Key Account Manager (FMCG Pharmacy Chain) – Petaling Jaya

Report to         : National Sales Manager, Direct Trade

Purpose

  • To deliver sales and other business KPI of the assigned key accounts through effective account management, pricing and promotion planning and execution, customer engagement, business negotiation and ensuring 5P execution excellence and in-store visibility development.

Major Responsibilities

  • Achieve the monthly, quarterly and annual net sales and Average Selling Price (ASP) targets on the assigned key accounts
  • Manage trade spending within the allocated budget.
  • Manage key accounts independently for 5P planning, customer negotiation, implementation and post analysis
  • Timely and effectively co-ordinate with merchandising team to ensure customer programs’ flawless execution in trade
  • Regular field track to ensure program execution and getting market insights
  • Perform business analysis to evaluate business results and to identify insights and priorities
  • Plan and execute insight-based solution
  • Conduct regular business review both internally and externally with customers
  • Perform sales forecast based on comprehensive evaluation of customers’ planning, customer alignment and market situation
  • Lead customers’ annual Joint Business Planning in establishing a strategic growth plan, joint business target and collaboration with customers.
  • Plan and deliver the assigned visibility and display for DARLIE activation and NPD
  • Lead and manage the direct reports in delivering their business targets assigned in a timely and effective manner.
  • Coach and develop the direct reports’ account management skills and knowledge.
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively across different teams and functions both in HQ and in the outstations
  • To perform any other duties as reasonably assigned by the Company from time to time

Relationships

  • Report directly to the National Sales Manager, Direct Trade
  • Manage a team of key account supervisors
  • Close working relationship with Customer Marketing, other sales teams, Finance and Supply Chain

Qualification/Experience

  • Bachelor degree, preferably in business, marketing or related disciplines
  • 5+ years of independent FMCG key account management experiences, exposure to personal care categories will be an added advantage
  • Hands on Key Account management knowledge including sales activity planning, trade spend management, customer engagement and networking, negotiation and presentation.
  • Strong knowledge in computer skills especially Excel and PowerPoint.
