NPI Engineer 

  • Generate first article for customer qualification before mass production run.
  • Prepare project gantt and setup cross function project team.
  • Lead and manage project team to ensure timely implementation of First Article project.
  • Review customer 3D data and drawings, bill of materials, specification and standard part TDS.
  • Review DFM, PFMEA, process capability study, stack up tolerance study for product design and requirement.
  • Develop process flow, bill of material and process drawing for new product.
  • Ensure development of Process drawing as per customer drawing requirement.
  • Develop packaging standard and instruction for the product.
  • As PDD main communication window with customer, prepare progress update report and lead technical discussion.
  • Develop, analyze, and record permanent solution for any problem encountered during project implementation.
  • Lead and perform Post Mortem activities for all FA items before 1st MP.
  • Review critical part jig and fixture concept for new product and process improvement.

Machining Process Engineer

  • To define, setup, document and maintain manufacturing processes.
  • To closely monitor process yields and product quality performance and take prompt action to contain and resolve problems that are affecting yields, manufacturing cost and product quality at earliest stage possible.
  •  To apply various methodology including Statistical Process Control techniques to ensure that all processes are sufficiently monitored and in control.
  • To adopt systematic problem solving method to analyses, identify and resolve root cause of problem.
  • To take prompt action in response to process/quality problem detected by QA & customers which include providing temporary solution to contain the problem at earliest stage possible & permanent solution to minimize the risk to customers.
  • To work with related department on tooling design & fabrication requirements, DOE activities, new product setup and process qualification.
  • To conduct and manage and supervise all PE's project and activities.
  • Conduct DFM, process capability study for product design and requirement.
  • Lead to resolve any technical issues arise during NPI / FA preparation stage.
  • Oversees and assesses existing processes and workflows.

Painting Process Engineer (Senior)

  • Familiarization of powder paint/liquid paint cosmetic requirements & achievements.
  • Familiarization of powder paint/liquid paint process control: Spray gun system, pretreatment, paint booth, curing oven temperature profiling.
  • Powder paint/liquid paint parameter setup in FA (First Article) & MP (Mass Prod) and color control under various of meter/gauge uses Continuous painting relevant tasks improvement towards capacity & capability expansions.

Welding Process Engineer

  • Provide welding engineering support to Engineering, Quality and Manufacturing to fabricate equipment in accordance with all applicable code and customer requirements.
  • Conduct DFM, analyzing engineering designs for welding requirements.
  • Evaluates new developments in welding field for possible application to current welding problems or production processes.
  • Responsible for new welding procedure specification (WPS) development.
  • Responsible for welder qualification test (WQT) from time to time.
  • Oversees and assesses existing welding processes and workflows.
  • Coordinate failure analyses and root cause analysis on welding related issues.

 

Requirements:

  • At least a Bachelor's Degree, Post Graduate Diploma, Professional Degree, Engineering (Mechanical), Engineering (Mechatronic/Electromechanical) or equivalent.
  • Experience in Sheet Metal fabrication & CNC machining industries.
  • Experience in project management, PPAP, DFM, FMEA, and DoE in product/process improvement.
  • Position available up to Senior Level.

HISTORY

UWC is fast-growing and believes strongly in transformation and diversity. UWC started as a trading company in 1990. A few years later, UWC ventured into the mould making business and started providing metal stamping and cutting services. Very quickly in 1997, we set up our first manufacturing plant in Bukit Minyak, Penang, where we then ventured into the provision of sub-assembly services to our customers.

In the early 2000s, UWC incorporated UWC Automation and UWC industrial to provide manufacturing of precision machined components, metal fabrication and value-added assembly services. We also ventured into the life science, healthcare and medical technology industries. In effect, we set up our second manufacturing plant.
