As an Advanced UX Design Engineer, you will play a critical role in shaping the user experience of our products and solutions. You will be accountable for driving innovation and delivering exceptional user experiences. In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and execute strategies for user-centered design.

In this role, you will impact our customers by applying human-centered design ethics to create innovative and intuitive user experiences. You will work closely with stakeholders to comprehend their needs and translate them into design solutions that meet user needs and business objectives. Your expertise in UX design and your ability to stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices will ensure that our products and solutions are the most useful, usable, and desirable in the marketplace.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage mentor and develop the abilities of a team of researchers and designers who support Connected Buildings
• Guide the team in the best practices for design and/or research. 
• Have a strong drive to get things done
• Interview hire and retain UX talent
• Collaborate with peer managers from other parts of the business to identify connection points and build out a holistic understanding of different user types and their needs and expectations.
• Lead major user experience design projects
• Have the ability to lead by example in creating a positive and supportive team environment that encourages collaboration, innovation and empathetic discussion     
   

YOU MUST HAVE

• 5+ years of experience in digital product design
• Experience leading and mentoring designers and researchers in an agile product development environment
• A portfolio that demonstrates not only your visual designs, processes, and thinking. It should also tell the story of what you contributed to the projects and how you lead the design process.
• Excellent communications skills. You are accomplished at conveying complex concepts clearly and persuasively to a variety of audiences, both verbally and in writing. 
• Proven track record for close team teamwork and influencing outcomes with a well-informed direction
• Ability dissect problems to uncover novel solutions
• Looking beyond the silos of the businesses to find the common threads that can drive innovation  

WE VALUE

• Experience building and leading design systems
• Fluent with design and prototyping tools, e.g., Sketch, Figma, InVision, Zeplin, Adobe XD, Abstract, etc. 
• The ability to tackle and define solutions, frameworks and patterns for complex problems and use cases for different user profiles in the IoT space. 
• Empathy – You are able put yourself in the someone else’s shoes
• Experience with design trends, benchmarking, forecasting and concept creation
• Experience with project planning, scoping and execution in a phase-gate and/or agile environment
• Graduate degree in user experience design, industrial design, human factors or related discipline
