EHS Executive
Responsibilities
Provides EHSS expertise and leadership in the development and deployment of EHSS policies, tools, standards, and best practices. Manage the development, implementation and continuous improvement of the EHSS programs to mitigate risk, prevent injuries, meet regulatory requirements and protect people, property and the environment.
- Implement and communicate EHS initiatives that exceed regulatory requirements.
- Support and implement strategies to establish and improve safety, health, security, and environmental compliance practices for facility-wide activities, including: permit applications, renewals/appeals, compliance/ security monitoring and reporting..
- Actively support safety and environmental management systems in order to achieve and sustain EN9100, ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and any others related requirement.
- Recommend and support process and equipment improvements to minimize the risks of Safran Landing Systems Malaysia personnel
- Assist in educating personnel in safety and environmental risk abatement and minimization with the ultimate goals of: (1) zero hazardous emissions, (2) zero landfill waste, (3) zero Personal Protective Equipment, and (4) zero major safety risk.
- Recommend and support equipment and process changes to improve safety, environmental, production risk impact of operations.
- Act as the primary interface back-up to the EHS Assistant/Manager with local, state, and federal regulatory authorities regarding safety and environmental matters and risks management of site
- Support a proactive effort in safety and environmental testing to ensure regulatory compliance
- Assist in establishing and ensuring adherence to internal auditing schedules or others
- Lead root cause analysis and manage preventive/corrective action follow-up
- Adhere and actively participate in occupational Safety, Health and Environmental policies, Energy policies procedures and activities such as I-See I-Act, GPI, low carbon initiative etc.
- Adhere and comply with Business Ethics, Anti-Corruption, Flight Safety Management System, and others relevant policies, procedures and activities.
- Perform other related duties as required
Requirements
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a related physical/biological science; Master’s degree in Environmental Sciences, Chemical or Environmental Engineering,
- Three to five years experience working in manufacturing or related chemical processes
- Good understanding and knowledge in EHS based on local law and regulations.
- Experience in ISO 14001 or OHSAS 18001 (Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series) certification would be desirable.
- Possess valid Green Book from Department of Safety & Health (DOSH), CePSWaM from Department of Environment and other related competencies would be desirable.
- Good interpersonal and leadership skills with diplomatic approach.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
