Paralegal - Construction (Singapore)
Job requirements
Due to ongoing growth and consistent workflow, we are currently seeking a Paralegal to support our Projects & Construction team with document production, legal research and ad-hoc knowledge management tasks. The role presents a fantastic opportunity to join an international firm of industry experts, acting on behalf of a growing and diverse local and international client base.
Key responsibilities
- Conducting legal and market research related to a broad spectrum of contentious and non-contentious practice areas
- Assisting lawyers and secretaries with matter coordination, filings and hearing preparation, and business development
- Conducting large document reviews and proof reading
- Preparing chronologies, hearing bundles, document indexes, summaries and other case management materials
- Monitoring updates and assisting with court and tribunal filings on eLitigation and other related platforms
- Supporting document production, including scanning, e-discovery and electronic bundling, and binding large volumes of matter correspondence and documentation
- Supporting internal knowledge management initiatives, including maintenance of precedents and matter know-how databases, and helping to administer subscriptions and access to relevant legal and market information and databases.
Candidate profile
- Educated to Diploma in Law level, or local or foreign equivalent qualification
- Excellent attention to detail, able to manage competing priorities, and work effectively with tight timelines
- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
- Motivated, with proven initiative and ability to work independently or collaboratively as required within a team environment
- Strong IT skills, previous use of an electronic disclosure platform would be advantageous
- Strong research, problem-solving and organisation skills
- Prior experience with construction and infrastructure work, including familiarity with Security of Payment Act (SOPA) regime is desirable but not essential.
