Technical Intern

About Alteus

We're a Singapore-based GTM firm helping AI companies enter and scale across APAC. We're also launching altvitx in the next 2 months: a new service line that audits, rescues, and runs AI-built apps for companies whose AI-generated code is growing but starting to crack.

We're opening three unpaid remote internships built specifically for first and second-year university students where you’ll be doing real work — no prior internships required.

If you’re interested in shipping AI-native software with little to no experience, this is the place for you.

About the role

You'll work on altvitx, Alteus's new Agentic Engineering service line launching in ~2 months. altvitx audits, rescues, runs, and evolves AI-built apps for companies whose AI-generated code is live in production and starting to break. You'll be embedded into the technical work: the exact scope flexes with what we're building that month, but you'll always be shipping something real.

This is less about writing components from scratch and more about being a builder in an AI-native workflow: you'll define tasks clearly, give the AI strong context, ship the output, and verify it actually works.

We ship fast using an AI-assisted development workflow (Cursor and Claude Code): you define the task, provide context, then validate, test, and polish until it's production-ready. Your impact comes from understanding how the system fits together (frontend, backend, APIs, data), guiding the AI well, and not blindly shipping AI output: you verify, you test, you iterate.

What you'll do

  • Turn loose problems into shipped features. Take a vague brief, scope it, ship it, document it.

  • Build internal tools, automations, and workflows using Cursor, Claude Code, and AI-native dev tools.

  • Prototype AI-powered features for altvitx and Alteus's portfolio companies.

  • Review AI-generated code for logic, edge cases, and maintainability before it ships.

  • Open clean PR's with clear descriptions and QA notes.

  • Help with technical project coordination when needed — scope tasks, track progress, keep the launch on rails.

What you'll get

  • Real code, real users. Your work goes to production, not into a tutorial sandbox.

  • An AI-native stack from day one. You'll leave fluent in the workflow the next decade of software actually gets built on.

  • Founder-adjacent exposure. Small team, no layers. You'll see how a product gets shipped, sold, and supported: not just how a ticket gets closed.

  • A chance to learn how AI is actually deployed in the real, high-stakes world of a launch.

  • Letter of Recommendation on successful completion.

What we're looking for

  • Singaporean/PR only

  • Year 1 or Year 2 student at any local university — Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or any degree with a coding portfolio.

  • A GitHub or portfolio with ≥1 project you can walk us through — hackathon or personal project.

  • Genuine obsession with AI tools. You've used Cursor, Claude Code, ChatGPT, Claude, or similar to build something real.

  • End-to-end curiosity. You understand (or are willing to learn fast) how web apps work — frontend, backend, APIs, database — and the technical concepts: REST APIs, CRUD, auth, async, logs, errors.

  • You don't blindly ship. You verify AI output, test, and iterate.

  • Comfortable with at least one programming language (Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or similar).

  • Self-directed. You can take a vague brief and turn it into a working prototype.

Nice to have

  • Experience with modern web frameworks (React / Next.js / Vue) or Python backends (FastAPI / Flask).
