Job Description
Role Overview:
As an Intern on the Startup Innovation team, you are the intelligence and operational engine of our matchmaking process. You will support the team by researching exactly which startups and corporates we should bring on board to build a robust pipeline. This role offers unparalleled exposure to the cutting edge of Singapore’s deep tech ecosystem and the inner workings of multinational corporate strategy.
Responsibilities
- Pipeline Building & Research: Conduct deep tech market research to identify and evaluate prospective corporate partners and high-potential startups. Mine data from diverse ecosystem sources (public research institutes, university spin-offs, VCs) to build the top-of-funnel pipeline.
- Startup Categorisation: Research and categorise incoming startups into the internal directory based on their maturity and specific commercial capabilities to ensure highly accurate matching.
- Matchmaking Administration: Assist the team in the logistics and administration of executing corporate-startup matchmaking sprints. This includes preparing briefing documents, managing the scheduling platform, and ensuring smooth operational flow during matching events.
- Corporate Needs Mapping: Assist in identifying 3-to-5-year technology horizons and current industry pain points for targeted sectors (e.g. MedTech, Semiconductors).
Requirement
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, preferably in a STEM field, Business, Economics, or a related discipline.
- Strong analytical and market research capabilities; comfortable working with databases, advanced spreadsheets, and CRM systems
- A genuine passion for deep tech and the startup ecosystem
- Highly organised, proactive, and capable of operating in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment where you are expected to take ownership of your research into deliverables and administrative tasks
