Job Description

This internship provides hands-on exposure to Sales Operations in a fast-moving merchant acquisition environment. The intern will support merchant onboarding operations, documentation management, and submission tracking, helping ensure that merchant applications move through the onboarding process smoothly and accurately. 

Reporting directly to the Head of Business & Enterprise (Payments), the intern will work closely with Sales Operations and Business Development, gaining exposure to operational workflows, internal controls, stakeholder coordination, and process improvement.

Responsibilities

Merchant Onboarding & Documentation Support

  • Assist in collating merchant and partner onboarding documents submitted by the Business Development team.
  • Review onboarding submissions against standard documentation checklists, including ACRA, bank statements, identification documents, licences, and other supporting documents where applicable.
  • Flag missing, incomplete, unclear, or incorrectly submitted documents for follow-up.
  • Maintain organised submission records, folders, and trackers to support smooth internal handoffs and audit readiness.
  • Contribute to a more efficient onboarding experience by ensuring documentation is complete, easy to access, and accurately tracked.

Submission Tracking & Administrative Follow-up

  • Update onboarding trackers with submission status, missing-document status, and follow-up progress.
  • Assist in monitoring outstanding items and following up with relevant internal stakeholders based on agreed templates or checklists.
  • Help maintain visibility of application progress for Sales Operations and Business Development teams.
  • Support routine status updates to ensure pending submissions are not overlooked.

Data Accuracy & Process Hygiene

  • Support basic data cleaning and checking across onboarding trackers and CRM related records.
  • Help identify inconsistencies in submission details, document naming, or tracker updates.
  • Assist in maintaining data discipline by ensuring required fields and statuses are updated accurately.
  • Escalate recurring submission issues or process gaps to the Sales Operations Executive.

General Sales Operations Support

  • Assist with routine administrative tasks related to sales operations, merchant onboarding, and documentation management.
  • Support preparation of simple reports, summaries, or tracker extracts where required.
  • Assist with ad-hoc operational tasks related to onboarding workflows, merchant lifecycle processes, or internal coordination.
