Inventory Planning Specialist (Refrigerants)

About the Role

We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Inventory Planning Specialist (Refrigerants.) This role ensures availability, accuracy, and efficient flow of refrigerant cylinder assets within an assigned geographical area. You will drive system and process compliance using our core tools (including IFS) and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to support operational needs and customer requirements.

This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic, cross-functional environment with exposure to global operations, complex logistics networks, and continuous process improvement initiatives.

Who you will report to:

Logistics & Planning Specialist – Refrigerants will report to Global Logistics Manager - Refrigerants

What you will be doing:  

  • Own inventory planning and cylinder asset management activities within your assigned region, ensuring optimal stock availability and utilization.

  • Develop and maintain inventory plans that balance service levels, asset utilization, and working capital objectives.

  • Monitor stock levels, consumption trends, and demand forecasts to proactively identify replenishment requirements and potential shortages.

  • Drive inventory optimization initiatives through stock rebalancing, asset reshuffling, replenishment planning, and strategic positioning of cylinder assets.

  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of inventory data, planning parameters, and master data within IFS and other planning systems.

  • Analyze inventory performance, stock variances, slow-moving assets, and inventory exceptions, implementing corrective actions where required.

  • Prepare business cases and recommendations for cylinder investments based on forecasted demand, capacity requirements, and utilization trends.

  • Collaborate closely with procurement teams to support purchasing decisions, replenishment planning, and supplier performance management.

  • Work with sales, operations, and product management teams to forecast demand and support special projects such as drydocks, newbuilds, and cruise repositioning activities.

  • Monitor key inventory and planning KPIs, providing insights and recommendations to improve asset utilization and service performance.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on inventory optimization, cost reduction, stock accuracy, and planning efficiency.

  • Ensure compliance with inventory management processes, regulatory requirements, cylinder conversions, and scrapping procedures.

  • Investigate root causes of inventory discrepancies, stock losses, receiving issues, and cylinder quality concerns, implementing sustainable solutions.

  • Support the Global Logistics Manager – Refrigerants with reporting, forecasting, business analysis, and planning-related projects.

  • Manage refrigerant bulk purchasing activities for Rotterdam.

  • Maintain the Supplier Country of Origin database for Rotterdam.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

What we are looking for:    

  • Strong analytical and inventory management skills

  • Ability to work cross-functionally and influence without authority

  • Process-focused mindset with continuous improvement orientation

  • Excellent communication and coordination capabilities

  • Experience in logistics, inventory planning, or asset management (preferred)

  • Familiarity with ERP systems such as IFS (advantageous)

  • Strong, hands-on understanding of customs procedures, import/export documentation, and regulatory requirements related to product entry, movement, and distribution (advantageous)

What you bring:

  • University/Degree level in the fields of Business Administration, Logistics or similar or a minimum of 2 years hands on experience from Inventory Management and Supplier Purchasing/Relationship Management

  • Strong business acumen with hands-on experience in inventory management, supplier purchasing, and business analysis

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and other Microsoft Office tools

  • Solid understanding of logistics processes, corporate procedures, and market needs

  • Able to work independently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with competing priorities

  • Strong multitasking, organization, and time-management skills

  • Effective at collaborating with cross-functional teams and all levels of management

  • Excellent interpersonal, influencing, and networking abilities
