Content & Social Media Intern
About the role
The Content & Social Media Intern helps Praxium turn programme activity, participant stories and useful youth-development insights into clear, engaging content. Working with guidance, the intern will support content planning, copywriting, simple visual and video production, publishing and community engagement across Praxium's digital channels.
Why this role matters
Praxium's work is most credible when students, educators and partners remain at the centre of the story. This role helps the team communicate that work consistently, build trust with its audiences and give each campaign a clear human voice.
What you'll do
- Develop content ideas from programme goals, audience needs, participant stories and approved source materials.
- Draft warm, clear and student-centred captions for social posts, programme promotions, event recaps and testimonials.
- Create or adapt simple graphics, carousels and other visual assets using approved brand templates.
- Shoot and edit short video clips or reels from approved programme and testimonial footage.
- Maintain the editorial calendar, track content status and keep working files organised.
- Schedule or publish approved content across assigned channels and check that links, tags and calls to action work correctly.
- Review basic content results, such as reach, views, engagement and clicks, and use them to suggest future content improvements.
What we're looking for
- Clear, audience-aware writing and the ability to express an idea in simple, engaging language.
- A good visual eye and basic experience creating social content through coursework, personal projects, volunteering or prior work.
- Comfort learning simple design and video-editing tools and working from brand templates.
- Strong organisation, attention to detail and willingness to manage an editorial calendar reliably.
- Openness to feedback and the ability to revise work thoughtfully.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience with Canva or comparable design tools.
- Experience editing short-form video for Instagram, Facebook or similar platforms.
- A portfolio or a few examples of writing, design, photography or video work.
- Interest in youth development, education, career exploration or social impact.
What you'll learn
- Plan content around a defined audience, objective and call to action.
- Apply a consistent brand voice across social, web and email content.
- Use content performance data to improve future creative choices.
- Work through a professional review and publishing process.
Team / collaboration context
You will work with Praxium's marketing and programme teams to identify stories, check programme details and prepare content for approval. The supervisor and formal reporting line are to be confirmed.
