SPH Foundation Communications and Operations Intern

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Provide operational support for SPH Foundation's daily work

  • Provide support and execute events organised or sponsored by the Foundation, including Lim Kim San Memorial Scholarship, network events for scholars and community engagement activities.

  • Assist with content updates for SPH Foundation website and LinkedIn page (to be launched in 2026)

  • Archiving and digitization of documents, and other administrative support for the Foundation

Requirements:

  •  Strong written and verbal communication skills in English 

  •  Ability to write clearly, concisely, and engagingly 

  • Good research and analytical skills. 

  • Ability to work under tight deadlines while maintaining attention to details. 

  • Proficient in using digital tools, including social media platforms and content management systems

  • Students from local universities/polytechnics who are majoring in languages, humanities, social work or communications will have an advantage

  • Students who have a passion for giving back to society and helping the underserved through the good work of the Foundation will be considered

Training provided to interns:

  • Intern will receive initial orientation on the introduction of SPH Foundation and its scope of work

  • Regular mentorship and feedback will be provided to track performance and improve work-related skills

  • Hands-on experience will be provided for the intern to pick up work-related skills

  • The intern will be provided knowledge and insights to the running of a charitable organisation

Expected learning outcome:

  • The intern will gain first-hand exposure to the day-to-day operations of a charitable foundation

  • Develop a practical understanding of non-profit operations, organisational workflows, and professional office practices

  • Through involvement in events organised or supported by the Foundation, the intern will acquire foundational skills in events management, stakeholder coordination, and professional communication within a philanthropic context

  •  The intern will support content-related initiatives to build practical experience in digital communications, basic content management, and mission-driven storytelling

  • The intern will develop a well-rounded understanding of how a charitable foundation operates, communicates, and engages stakeholders, while building transferable skills applicable across public, private, and non-profit sectors.
