About the Role

You will support the Org, Board, Leadership Services (OBLS) team in strengthening charity governance through effective board volunteer placements.

BoardMatch is a key initiative that helps charities in Singapore recruit skilled and committed board and committee volunteers. By understanding the needs of charities and the interests of volunteers, we facilitate meaningful matches that support stronger leadership and governance across the social sector.

In this role, you will contribute to the delivery of BoardMatch services, engage charities and volunteers, support programme operations, and help ensure a positive experience for all stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of CNPL BoardMatch's core services, including Digital Opportunity Listings, In-person Opportunity Sessions (M2M), and Referrals & Recommendations (R&R).
  • Act as a point of contact for charities to identify board-level needs and translate these into opportunity listings on giving.sg.
  • Monitor and maintain accurate records of matches and placements between charities and volunteers.
  • Assist in overseeing the BoardMatch volunteer database on giving.sg
  • Coordinate monthly outreach to both charities and volunteers, ensuring they are engaged and informed about current board opportunities

In addition, you will:

Support team in various tasks relating to the projects, including but not limited to:

  • Project management for various engagement sessions and workshops
  • Support the coordination of charities, partners, guest speakers
  • Support the review and assessment of current work processes/ programmes
  • Support admin and logistical matters for the workshops and clinic sessions
  • General operational support for team's BAU - virtual/physical events and meetings, including notetaking, timekeeping, attendance taking, calendaring, etc
  • Any other tasks relating to projects or other responsibilities within the team's purview

Qualifications

  • Penultimate or Final Year tertiary student from social work or social science (sociology, psychology, anthropology or similar) discipline, preferably with background or interest in social issues
  • Passionate about some community(ies) they are active in
  • Outgoing, comfortable with interacting with new people from different communities
  • Someone who is curious, takes initiative and pride in the work that they do
  • Events, programme design and facilitation experience
  • Strong writing, analysis and communication skills
  • Proficiency in creative design and content writing
  • Self-starter, independent, possesses a high degree of discipline and commitment
  • Good sensibility, interpersonal and communication skills, especially with stakeholders of different levels
