Finance Intern
Job Overview
Support the Finance Team in theday-to-day financial operations of the organisation. This role provides practical exposure to finance administration, accounts processing, record management and financial reporting within a social service environment. Able to commit to a minimum internship period of 4 months.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the processing and recording of finance-related transactions.
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable administrative activities.
- Assist in preparing financial schedules, reconciliations and reports.
- Maintain accurate and organised financial records, filing systems and supporting documentation.
- Perform data entry and verification of financial information.
- Support finance-related projects, audits and administrative tasks as assigned.
- Undertake other duties relevant to the role.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Comfortable working with numerical data.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Good organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to learn and receive feedback.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Experience & Knowledge
- No prior work experience is required.
- Prior internship, volunteer, project or administrative experience will be advantageous.
- Basic understanding of accounting or finance concepts will be an advantage.
- Demonstrated interest in finance, accounting, business administration or related functions.

CHWSS was granted the Institution of Public Character (IPC) status by the Commissioner of Charities in 2004 and has maintained the status to date.
The core group of beneficiaries that CHWSS serves are single seniors staying on their own, many of whom are without family support and are of low income. CHWSS provides care and support for this group of needy individuals in several ways to empower them to lead a healthy and active lifestyle, subsequently to pass on with a peaceful mind.
