Digital Design Intern

About the role

As a Design Intern at Hashtag Interactive, you will help translate digital marketing campaign strategies into compelling visual design. You will collaborate closely with our creative and accounts teams to produce engaging graphics, animations, and visual content across digital and social touchpoints. This is a hands-on role where you will refine your craft, work on live client projects, and gain real-world experience in an agency environment.

What you’ll learn & experience

• How to translate campaign strategies and briefs into effective visual language.
• The end-to-end creative production process for digital and social media campaigns.
• Cross-functional collaboration within a squad-based agency model alongside copywriters, strategists, and account managers.
• Practical application of typography, layout, animation, and art direction standards in real-world client work.

During your internship you will

• Work directly on client deliverables ranging from social media content to online campaign assets.
• Participate in creative brainstorming sessions and offer fresh visual perspectives.
• Receive direct mentorship from senior creative staff and art directors to sharpen your technical and conceptual design skills.
• Experience working across a diverse range of client accounts and industries.

Key responsibilities

• Produce visually appealing and effective designs for digital channels, including social posts, animated GIFs, web banners, social video graphics, EDMs, online ads, and landing page concepts.
• Offer creative input during internal meetings and contribute visual ideas to campaign briefs.
• Maintain brand consistency and quality standards across all visual assets.
• Support the creative and accounts teams throughout project execution and campaign rollouts.

What we’re looking for

• A strong foundation in graphic design, layout, and digital visual communication.
• Proficiency in core design tools, specifically Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
• Good communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
• Close attention to detail and a keen eye for aesthetics, typography, and colour theory.
• Self-motivation, curiosity, and an eagerness to learn in a fast-paced environment.

Bonus points if you have

• Basic knowledge of motion graphics or animation tools (e.g., Adobe After Effects).
• Experience with photography, videography, or basic video editing.
• Familiarity with web design principles, UI design, or basic HTML/CSS.
