IT Security Analyst

Job Summary

The security analyst analyses cybersecurity events, enhances threat detection, and leads incident response to contain security incidents in collaboration with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Improve threat detection capabilities by analysing incidents and identifying gaps in security controls
• Maintain and optimize detection capabilities for the Security Operations Center (SOC)
• Analyse large datasets and correlate information from multiple sources to identify root causes of security incidents
• Enhance and update SOC detection and response playbooks to improve operational effectiveness
• Lead incident response efforts to minimize the impact of security incidents on the organization
• Collaborate effectively with IT infrastructure teams, application owners, and business units to ensure secure operations

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in information security technologies
• Understanding of cyber adversaries’ tactics, techniques, and procedures
• Experience in the insurance or financial industry
• Industry certifications such as CISSP, CEH, or GIAC
• Experience using Splunk for data analysis
• Ability to analyse and process large datasets efficiently
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Willingness to learn and work collaboratively in a team environment
