Offering you the opportunity to listen, discuss and network with fellow industry professionals, the evening promises to be a light and informative session.

This month's topics and speakers:

"Career opportunities in the early childhood sector"By Ms. Loy Wee Mee, Executive Director, Pre-school By-the-Park

"Why be an early childhood educator?"By Ms. Pamela Leong, Centre Manager, Pre-school By-the-Park

TheEarly Childhood Care and EducationorECCE sectoris currently experiencing growth that would bring about many job opportunities with national-certified training for Singaporeans.

At present, there are about 17,000 ECCE educators working at 1,800 childcare centres and kindergartens and the demand for ECCE educators will only increase as the number of full-day preschool places is expected to grow to over 40,000 by 2022.

ECCE educators could choose to work in either kindergartens or childcare centres. Both offer early childhood development programmes tailored to the needs of children of various ages. These include learning activities that develop language and literacy, numeracy, social and emotional skills, inquiry and problem-solving skills, motor skills, as well as aesthetics and creative expression.

Preschool teachers can progress in their careers to senior teachers and then lead teachers while they mentor new teachers who have just joined. Those with leadership potential can be groomed to take on centre leadership roles where they will manage one or more childcare centres. These opportunities are available to different segments of the workforce, ranging from new entrants to mature workers who meet the minimum requirements for the different job roles.

So come join us for the evening to learn more as our distinguished speakers will offer useful insights into the Early Childhood Care and Education sector and share how you can be a part of it through key initiatives and programmes that are equipped to provide both new entrants and mid-career switchers with the knowledge, skills and dispositions for the various respective roles.

If you know of anyone who shares the same interest and has the passion to work with children, please invite them along for this informative networking session with JobStreet.com.
