A Chief Operating Officer (COO) is a senior executive responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of a company. Their primary duties revolve around implementing company strategy, overseeing various departments, and ensuring efficient business operations. As a COO, one might also lead organisational development projects, manage relationships with partners or stakeholders, and contribute to the development of strategic plans. COOs typically work in a variety of sectors, such as finance, technology, retail and healthcare. Their role often includes being the second-in-command within an organisation, working prominently with the Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
Tasks and duties

- Working closely with the CEO and other executives to coordinate and implement business strategies across an organisation.
- Implementing policies and procedures to monitor the efficiency of operational processes and ensure quality control.
- Monitoring operational performance and implementing necessary improvements to meet set business targets.
- Overseeing the production, procurement and supply chain processes to ensure operational efficiency.
- Managing relationships with partners and stakeholders.
- Leadership of cross-functional teams to address key business challenges.
