What's it like to be a Chinese Teacher?
Chinese Teachers help students learn a Chinese language. There are many dialects and languages in the Chinese language family, but Mandarin is the most commonly taught outside of China. Chinese Teachers may teach Mandarin to students of all ages, from preschool to adult learners. Chinese Teachers can teach at private or public schools, learning centres, testing centres, tutoring agencies and through online tutoring platforms.

- Developing curricula for Chinese language classes.
- Preparing learning materials for students.
- Assigning homework to students.
- Monitoring the performance and progress of students.

How to become a Chinese Teacher
Chinese Teachers usually have a bachelor degree. Additional requirements may apply depending on the type of students you want to teach.

Pursue a bachelor degree in a Chinese language or a related course.

Get a secondary education degree if you plan to teach Mandarin at the secondary level.
- 3.
Get a Professional Certificate or Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) or a Certificate from the Early Childhood and Development Agency (ECDA) if you plan to teach Mandarin in preschool.

Complete a postgraduate diploma in education (PGDE) if you plan to teach advanced Chinese at the university level.
