How to become a Clinical Psychologist
The Singapore government does not officially license Psychology. However, if you want to be a Clinical Psychologist, you need to complete at least a Master�s Degree as well as a prescribed number of clinic hours.
- Obtain a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology or a related field. Then, pursue a Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology.
- Gain practical experience through internships and practicums during your postgraduate studies.
- Accumulate supervised clinical hours as required by the postgraduate program and future certification requirements. You need at least 1,000 hours based on the standards of the Psychology regulatory bodies in Singapore.
- Join the Singapore Register of Psychologists and other professional organisations like the Singapore Psychological Society.
- Though not mandatory, a Ph.D. or Psy.D. can enhance your professional reputation.
