Good for candidates without basic knowledge in Banking & Finance but the prospect seems not well
The good thingsCheap lunch offered in CBD area. Some colleagues are quite helpful. You can learn Chinese effectively here.
The challengesLow salary, no increment for 2+ years. Too much of overtime and good chances are always offered to Chinese PRC. Hard to see the prospect here.

    Stable Offshore Bank
The good thingsDual culture setting. Structure is made up of Chinese expats for management and remaining mass employees local. Get to experience daily operations in dual language and culture in business setting. Has staff canteen. World's 5th largest bank by market capitalization. Possessed strong regional customer base.
The challengesLots to catch up with other local banks, needs to invest more in local business and increase coordination with regional business. Most importantly, require more work in Bank's branding to differentiate from perceived image.

    Experience at BOC
The good thingsLearning curve is not steep and pace is not very fast, so good for those who are are new to the industry.
The challengesLack of exploration of ideas as management has their own set of ideas on how they want things to be done. Therefore it is challenging to get your opinions shared with a management that are not open. Management are often nowhere to be seen for the entire afternoon and it is usually after working hours when they return so if you have anything to check with them, you may have to stay back.
