Please, look elsewhere. Not worth the mind gymnastics and fatigue.
The good thingsPretty store(s). Some fun colleagues, if you're lucky.
The challenges-Complacency from management of skills of new hires. No proper, in depth training. Expectation to quickly learn but no/lack of guidance. Yet, minimal/basic tasks that the management SHOULD know are being pushed to lower associates to handle. -Communication is almost non existent. Expectations of sales needs to be met but no actual foundation of communications from upper management on HOW to do so. Its ownself do, ownself sink. Make money = happy/ good job. -The constant branch expansions but lack manpower of already established store. -Trying to heavily infuse Japanese work culture/mindset. The "Just put your head down and grind" mindset. Working longer hours are highly applauded for Department Managers as seen as high, productive worker. Yet, even in off days, they come back to settle work due to low manpower. Also, very backwards in technology in terms of paperwork. - On your off days, some DM/SM will disturb and text you regarding work. Let alone the multiple group chats you're gonna be tied to. No rest. - "Thank you" work compensations are store vouchers/ items. Very thoughtful.

The good thingslearn things since having 5 person workload for one person.
The challengesManagement does not consider or concern on ground difficulties. In addition, after worked for OT but superb difficult to compensate the OT hours.

    Development growth & challenges
The good thingsAs the company is growing and opening more branch. It's a good time to grow with them.
The challengesHard to get recognition for your work. Different branch different set of standard. Plus not getting enough support from the relevant department as all only concern on their own KPI instead of working together as a team. Keep changing direction creating confusion within the team resulting doing unnecessary tasks. Rush to do, do to rush.

Find work elsewhere or you will regret working here
The good thingsHonestly, the job is easy if they don’t give you all other adhoc duties.
The challengesManagement is constantly using cctv to watch you doing work instead of catching shoplifters. Many adhoc duties and the reason they give is always shortage of manpower. staff benefits are very minimal. Toxic environment where everyone is talking bad about each other. Management don’t like people working in pairs or more. They expect you to work alone , carrying heavy items.

If you put aside the toxicity then its a good place to work as long as you ignore the drama
The good thingsI like the products. Its interesting and keeps you curious.
The challengesHonestly? Its the management who operates the store. Very biased. Toxic environment with too many gossiping and attitude problems staffs, dept managers, store managers and supervisors.

    Terrible and Disrespectful Management
The good thingsJust a retail experience, get to serve lots of customers from all walks of life.
The challengesPay rate is lower than other retail places, long standing hours with minimal breaks, disrespectful, rude and poor communication to employees, only full time staff get benefits or discounts at the store, better off finding another place to work.
