Please, look elsewhere. Not worth the mind gymnastics and fatigue. The good thingsPretty store(s). Some fun colleagues, if you're lucky.
The challenges-Complacency from management of skills of new hires. No proper, in depth training. Expectation to quickly learn but no/lack of guidance. Yet, minimal/basic tasks that the management SHOULD know are being pushed to lower associates to handle.
-Communication is almost non existent. Expectations of sales needs to be met but no actual foundation of communications from upper management on HOW to do so. Its ownself do, ownself sink. Make money = happy/ good job.
-The constant branch expansions but lack manpower of already established store.
-Trying to heavily infuse Japanese work culture/mindset. The "Just put your head down and grind" mindset. Working longer hours are highly applauded for Department Managers as seen as high, productive worker. Yet, even in off days, they come back to settle work due to low manpower. Also, very backwards in technology in terms of paperwork.
- On your off days, some DM/SM will disturb and text you regarding work. Let alone the multiple group chats you're gonna be tied to. No rest.
- "Thank you" work compensations are store vouchers/ items. Very thoughtful.
