A company who favours nepotism and turns a blind eye on staffs who were proficient in their work
The good thingsAble to do what I want because the higher management could not care less.
The challengesThe refusal of them retaining the proficient people and had some issues with promoting people who were really good at their job. There seems to be nepotism in the company where people get 'special' promotion and management does not bat an eye

The good thingsHere they follow 5 days rotating shift its only good things.
The challengesLack of knowledge. You will forget your old machining knowledge and you can not learn much here. Too much politics here.

A place to start if you are interested in optics manufacturing
The good things1) Learn more about optics fabrication beginning from raw material to a finished product 2) Robust industry 3) Get to meet people from different age groups, nationalities and races
The challenges1) Rotating shift pattern is not for everyone 2) Management team pay too much attention on improving yield but compromise on quality. 3) Lack of proper training 4) Finger pointing culture 5) Lack of career progression 6) Tasked with duties that are beyond the scope of your job 7) Working with management team is a stressful experience because they are not knowledgeable enough to handle arising issues.
