Diversity is great, but workload is challenging
The good thingsYou get to be hands-on with a variety of job responsibilities, experienced mentors in audit and also a wide network of customers to learn something new with. You get to pickup new skills very frequently and there are many opportunities for growth.
The challengesThe lack of resources, and shortage of time. Expect to work long hours and overtime eats at your sleeping hours and weekends. Pay is average for the work put in, incentive provided is not so attractive and does not reflect the company's appreciation of the staff.

    Support Functions undervalued
    The good thingsGood IT infrastructure
The challengesDaunting amount of policies and procedures, low sense of ownership and accountability as too many layers of rank and auto progression based on grade system rather than performance. Ratio of admin/support function too low to the professional staff

Great platform for learning and developing experience
The good thingsEY provides a great learning and developing experience platform for its staffs where there are sufficient materials and training on Audit and Accounting Standards on year to year basis. Counsellor / Supervisors in EY will provide staffs with coaching and sufficient advise on job experience and technical issues faced in the course of auditing.
The challengesComplexity of issues faced in the course of auditing and the constant updates of Auditing and Accounting Standards will be one of the challenges faced as one will need to keep him/herself updated on top of the constant timeline to meet for audit of client's financials.

    Wonderful working experience in EY
The good things1. Flexible workplace and time, this allow good work-life balance in particular to global and regional roles. 2. Advanced technology and fast move once strategy is decided. EY places lots of importance and embraces IT, i.e. IT is an enabler and not solely a tool. 3. Good people connection and diversity of culture. 4. Strong governance and processes.
The challengesNot a challenge but perhaps, if medical benefits could cover for immediate family be great.

    Good!
The good thingsThe working environment is great, especially the people you work with. And they provide flexibility based on your situation and needs. The other good thing about EY is they encourage people coming back to the firm once they've quit which is a really good thing!
The challengesWell the challenges i've faced off late is that they are concentrating more on Robotics and less on developing their people. People management can be improved leaps and bounds in terms of motivation and allocation of work
