Chinese SME company, lacks proper structure
The good thingsCNY/Christmas Eve half-day holiday
The challengesIn a family business, most of the family members control everything, and you can only listen; your opinion is worth nothing. The annual dinner is held at their Sungei Kadut Showroom carpark, with no air conditioning and no delicious cuisine. A lucky draw requires you to use your own money to put into the box, and I really cannot make it.

Toxic Work Environment Due to Manipulative Leadership
The good thingsThere is absolutely nothing positive about working at this company. The management is disorganized, toxic, and unprofessional, creating a stressful and demoralizing work environment. Employees are undervalued, overworked, and subjected to constant office politics and favoritism.
The challengesWorking at Gain City has been a disappointing experience with no real benefits. The work environment is toxic, primarily due to manipulative leadership and internal office politics. A particular individual holds too much influence, creating a culture of favoritism, backstabbing, and misinformation.

A highly political/toxic company. Not much room to grow.
The good thingsGood colleagues in the company (a few) Big boss comes in around noon time and leaves early almost everyday.
The challengesA very political company. Does not look forward to new changes along trends. Purchasers are very arrogant and not helpful (majority). Does not fully encourage WFH despite notice. Managers does not give you much task for you to grow. Everything done in the marketing department is just so repetitive and majority(85%) of it isn't related to marketing.

    Helpful company
The good things- Company trying their best to help us staff during this circuit breaker by finding jobs for us to do so we still have income - Boss would ask us if we are feeling okay and wish for us to stay safe and healthy during this covid19 situation
The challenges- As long as you are willing to do the work the company is helping us to find, you will have job to do. If you choose to take leave because you don't want to work then it is your own fault.

    Fun working environment
The good thingsThe company ensures that everyone has a conducive work environment by having weekly meetings for us to flag out any issues we have which are then taken care by the ic immediately. One of the things I like about the team is that they are extremely friendly which makes work much more enjoyable.
The challengesThe company has helped me to grow professionally by providing me with projects that I have not done before. I can then ask the boss questions which he would share his opinion. This allowed me to learn a lot, just that it can e quite tiring when the workload piles up when I procrastinate

    A company that cares
The good thingsThe company truly cares about their staff members and would always try their best to allow staff members to maximize their earnings A lot to learn from as ideas and tips would be shared during meetings to help boost sales Great colleagues to work with, good working environment
The challengesWe would be given tasks which may be challenging, but it pushes us to think out of the box in order to solve the problem at hand

    Much to learn from
The good thingsI've personally learnt a lot while working in the company as not only do we undergo training, my superiors would often guide me and and teach me the related hacks and skills when approaching my job
The challengesSometimes there are works where my superiors are a little more hands-off which require me to be more independent and know exactly what to do by myself

    Disappointing

The challengesGet to meet all sorts of weird people. Especially the management, keep changing.

A challenging job that require alot of concentration.
The good things- Always ready to groom and offer new challenge to staff. - Not tied down by in-flexible hard and fast rules when dealing with issue. - Well rewarded when you are able to perform and accomplish given assignment.
The challenges- must be able to accomplish given assignment base on the limited resources and information. - understand what the ''company'' wants, and to work closely with other department in order to accomplish certain assignment. - always ready to scarifies personal life's hours.

    Good exposure to the industry
The good thingsGood exposure to this industry, especially for entry level. Opportunity to hone various skills to cope with the different roles. Good manager, will guide and help subordinates to ensure task can be done. Less/minimal politics in the same department. Exposure to working with people of different backgrounds.
The challengesNo work life balance, company benefits are very minimal. Not sure of the direction that company is going, management could make it more clear for employee to work towards. There should be more coaching, not sure of career progression as everyone is busy firefighting everyday to look ahead. Management can be more compassionate, and treat employees better instead of viewing us as robots. Management's demands and expectations are sometimes too high and idealistic to achieve, they should learn to review and manage their expectations.
