    I missed working here
The good thingsA memorable 2.5 years spent here. Great colleagues, adorable children, nice parents, good management. It was a difficult decision to leave to try something different, but this was still the place I enjoyed working the most. Hope to be back one day.
The challengesAfter leaving and trying out a different company and work, the stress and challenges faced in Heguru were really nothing.

    Teacher - Lots to learn
The good thingsI enjoyed and appreciated the extensive and comprehensive teachers' training that was provided. I also like the work environment. Made good friends with the colleagues here. Company benefits are all up to expectations. Everyday is like a new learning experience.
The challengesLots to learn and remember at the beginning. Have to cover colleagues' duties when they are down, especially during peak Covid period. But I guess that's part and parcel of any job.

    Good benefits and workplace
The good thingsStarting pay is high. So far, there has always been quite good pay increment every year. Benefits get better. Management recognises efforts of staff. Good career opportunities. Colleagues all get along well, no office politics or whatsoever.
The challengesPerforming and conducting classes in a lively manner in front of parents and kids can be quite awkward and daunting at first. The seniors offered a lot of guidance on that to overcome this.

Assistant Teacher - Good hourly rate, Flexible schedule
The good thingsThe centre accepts flexible schedule, so it is good that I can plan according to my school schedule. Teachers are nice to work with. The hourly rate is high. Fun to assist classes if kids are cute and obedient.
The challengesNeed to learn quite a bit in order to assist classes. Pace of classes is fast, so need to focus when assisting. Will be more difficult if there are rowdy kids in the class.

Attending Instructor Courses in Japan was Memorable. Good Pay and Welfare.
The good thingsHappy to have the opportunity to be sponsored instructor training and certification courses in Heguru Japan. It was an eye-opener and unforgettable experience able to learn directly from the founders in Japan. Glad to have the chance to tour and play a bit in Tokyo before returning to Singapore. A joy to conduct Heguru classes. Happy to see children growing, great sense of achievement. Remuneration and company benefits are better than other companies. Company management is readily accessible, approachable and open to suggestions
The challengesOne of the challenges is having to work on weekends. Travel time is a little long for me as I stay a little far from my workplace.

Good remuneration, work is rewarding, learning curve can be steep at first
The good thingsAfter comparing offers from different enrichment centres, this company offered me the best and was the most sincere. I have worked for 1-2 years now. In general, job is rewarding. You can see and teach adorable children which can really make your day when they respond to you in class. Proper guidance was offered to train me up as a teacher. I appreciated the patience from my mentors. I am glad all my colleagues are great to work with and I have made really good friends here. Generally, nothing to complain about the management.
The challengesThe initial learning curve can be steep to learn how to conduct lessons using the Heguru methodology. After you started teaching, you get the hang out it and after a while, everything comes pretty naturally. Need to work weekends but I guess that is part and parcel of all enrichment centres.

Fulfilling Job, Good Colleagues/Superiors, Nice Boss, Good Pay
The good thingsIt is rewarding to teach the children and see them progress. Nice and appreciative parents. Great sense of satisfaction. Colleagues are all nice and helpful. Superiors are friendly and always willing to help and offer advice. Boss has no air and approachable. He is understanding and always willing to listen and offer help. Overall salary package is good. There are incentives on a weekly basis to knock off earlier. The more senior you are, the less days you need to work. There are promotion opportunities. Overall, a great and pleasant workplace without having to worry about office politics. Fulfilling job with sense of satisfaction.
The challengesAs with any job, there is always a certain level of stress. Teaching can be a little tiring and draining. We can only sit on movable stools to teach and don't really have to kneel as much, so that is great.

    Very fun and family-like environment
The good thingsThere were many new things to learn and improve on. My colleagues helped me a lot along the way. The working environment is very safe and conducive and the children makes our job feel very fulfilling. The location was very convenient when it comes to grabbing lunch!
The challengesIt is a very physically exerting job which requires you to be on your knees while holding a lesson. At the end of the day, your knees tend to be bruised and hurt quite badly. However, you'll get used to it and it really doesn't bother you once you see the faces of all the cute children.
