    Work can be fun but poor management
    The good thingsthe company does give you good appraisal so you can expect pay raise yearly however with pay raise come more responsibility. they can load you with so much secondary work.
    The challengeslack of manpower. reduction of headcount for cost saving resulting to 1 person shouldering more than 1 person job. you have no social life, OT and always on standby for weekend

    Working in the Photovoltaics Business Unit.
    The good thingsAbout 50-60 employees in the building so everyone knows each other. Employees given the opportunity to take up improvement courses and trainings are provided externally and internally. Pretty relax if you're in the right department like facilities and maintenance as its a small plant(good for someone who is retiring). Good for someone to start with no experience and then jump to a better company. Also good for junior exec and management roles with better perks.
    The challengesFast paced and the solar market is quite volatile. Salary is quite low for non-exec workers. Exec workers/management position probably get a better pay. Racial previleges to the majority race as all the top management comprises of this race(even meetings might sometimes be spoken in the particular language which is not english). Top management dont really care about the workers at the bottom(non-exec) as they are just expandables in their eyes. Whereas, the executive employees get better attention from management(positions like engineers and above). High turnover rate and employees getting fired. Dont really have a solid career promotion package for someone to look forward to(whats my next title after this position?) Quite a political work environment. Variable bonus is lousy(1.5 mth tops, but usually gets lower than that). Exec/management position get other special bonus.

    The good thingsBenifits are great. HR have set trainings and other projects for employee development. They listen on employee's needs. Balance work environment. There's always a place for advancement in terms of career growth. Composed of 5 different division's in singapore which has proven a good track on its product lines and always prioritize the qulity.
