The Infant Jesus (IJ) Mission in Singapore started with the IJ Sisters setting up a girls’ school, The Convent of the Holy Infant Jesus in Victoria Street (present day CHIJMES) in 1854.Today, the IJ Order’s educational arm consists of 11 Convent of the Holy Infant Jesus (CHIJ) schools and the social service arm, the Infant Jesus Homes and Children’s Centres (IJHCC).IJHCC remains true to the mission in serving disadvantaged children and youth at risk.
