    Proud to be Intertek.
The good thingsThe working culture. Trust level is high if you prove to your boss you are disciplined and trustworthy to get work done. No micro-management so long you deliver your tasks well. Flexi work arrangement in place way before the government pushes for it.
The challengesMinimal social activities for those who like partying and having fun. However the office environment itself is fun and cordial.

    Lots of focus on revenue
The good thingsIf you love being in a SME atmosphere, then this is for you.
The challengesThe greatest resource of every company is their employees, however, clearly there isn't any focus on this greatest resource ever. There is only top to down orders and obviously no return feedback from the bottom. Granted there are many other companies out there with similar issues, however, this one simply takes the cake with despotic, authoritarian rule.

The good thingsGood colleagues working alongside you.
The challengesVery bad management and culture. Overtime like nobody's business. Management don't care how much you OT as long as you provide results for them. Basically no welfare, bad culture and terrible management.

    Work experience in Intertek
The good thingsA multinational company operated in Singapore which provides inspection, verification, testing and certification services. It has more than 80,000 employees and operates over many offices and laboratories worldwide.
The challengesThe rigid work environment with its long hours has produced incredibly unproductive working environment. Excessive working hours are having an impact, upon their work-life balance. Certain department were reportedly told that they were expected to sit around in the office until at least 8:30pm even if they had finished their work, just in case anything urgent came in.

    No progression
The good thingsNothing much really. Preference were given to some people only, because they helped their country man. FYI, I'm Singaporean, speak Hokkien & no Cantonese. Met up with my direct superior to discuss goals & targets, but instead, she didnt do as per agreed plan. Left for a better opportunity.
The challengesBetter progression system. Superiors should pay more attention to the growth of all people instead of their of just 2.
