    The good thingsThe opportunity to learn beyond your scope of work as you'll be exposed to challenges outside your scope of work. Another positive aspect is that you'll learn to manage the expectations of internal and external stakeholders.
    The challengesOne of the challenges is that you're expected to take up roles beyond your current capabilities or outside your area of expertise and you're expected to manage the role. This is not really a negative point as it contributes to your overall learning and growth within the company. Another challenge is that you'll be managing and working with different people within and outside of the organisation all the time, and learning to manage their expectations.

    A Pioneer Tech Role for a Traditional Company
    The good thingsManagement is very good with their respective roles. When it comes to service, people comes first. The working environment is a breeze and everyone is supportive of one another. As a pioneer data analyst, high autonomy in work is expected and any tools that may help with data pre-processing (Python/R) and visualization (Tableau) are welcomed even if it is not expected. Ample work-life balance - Show up and leave work on time.
    The challengesManagement do not know what to expect from Data analysts. Work typically starts with data cleaning, visualization and simple report writing. They make their decisions based on past data but they are not aware of how predictive machine learning algorithms may be able to help with their business decisions such as workforce deployment. Because of this individual growth is pretty slow unless you are able to ignite your entrepreneurial spirit and prove to your management that implementing machine learning algorithms is necessary for improvement in their business. Otherwise there is really limited opportunities for career development.
