The good thingsVery understanding and very cooperative. It is easy to accommodate into this working environment.
The challengesPersonally it was the commute to the work place. Other than that its as every company is.

Poor treatment of part timer academics
The good thingsYou are a contractor. You can turn down jobs if you are too busy. Location is good too. Payment is prompt.
The challengesManagement and administration is not cohesive. You'd have to tie up loose ends between staff and departments. Students are customers and you have to pander to them.

Good employer that is hard to find! Thumbs up!
The good thingsEven though I am only a part-timer, I still get to enjoy half of whatever perks that the full-timers are enjoying, eg annual leave, flexi-benefits, etc.
The challengesBeing in the education sector, these are hard times that we are facing now, especially with this extended COVID-19 "Circuit breaker" going on. It's unprecedented, and it's hurting our business, as well as my rice bowl. My greatest worry is that I may be at serious risk of losing my job. Because it's common practice in almost all industries that part-timers would always be the first ones to be asked to leave, during recessions. Because they have been perceived as expendables.....That's just my personal opinion, of course. Kaplan Singapore has been a most wonderful employer to me. I really appreciate being a part of this Company. But I am not sure how long my employer can help me keep my job.

The good thingsDynamic and energetic work environment. The office culture promotes team-work and high-performance.
