Company had its hey-day in the past. Now, its struggling to stay afloat.
The good thingsFlexible working hours (for Part-timers) Lesson Preparation time varies based on experience level
The challengesBad management. Staff morale and welfare is low. Opportunities for advancement are poor unless you're part of the family or you stay for a minimum of 5 years.

Average pay but no job satisfaction
The good thingsSome nice colleagues but that is the only good thing. Other colleagues are cunning and will stop at nothing to sabotage you in order to make themselves look good, simply because they lack the talent to impress bosses.
The challengesUpper management lacks direction and clear communication. No career development and progression too. Whole day preach about contributions but fail to recognise those who really contributed in supporting operations. If you just want to teach, working part-time might be a better idea but even so, number of students is decreasing fast so pay is getting lower.

Part time teaching at Learning Point tuition centre
The good thingsSupportive admin is strong providing markers. Job is not stress as I'm used to teaching and I love the children there. Nice parents.
The challengesThe challenge is that 1 session of lesson (2h) which is what I'm paid.. I have to spend at least 1/2h preparing it and at least 1h marking minimum. The time taken to mark about 8-10 scripts can take up to 1h faster.. With qualitative feedback probably 1.5h.. Plus the travelling time (1h) and the calls to parents each term and meet parents upon request before or after school. Hence, the pay is not justifiable for a private industry making high profits from every client and I'm just getting 10 percent or less as a part time teacher. Not worth to teach part time there as the pay is incredible low unless you can be an irresponsible teacher by squeezing everything within 2h of teaching, marking and no planning etc.
