Mount Alvernia Hospital is part of the worldwide ministry of the Congregation of the Franciscan Missionaries of the Divine Motherhood (FMDM). We carry on the work begun by our Sisters when they came to Singapore in 1949 to pioneer the tuberculosis ward and the care of TB patients in Tan Tock Seng Hospital, and later to care for lepers in Trafalgar Home.
