Bittersweet experience that makes me grow as an educator
The good thingsThe company has helped me to grow professionally by the way I conduct or present myself professionally to parents, colleagues and children. I have learnt how to overcome my anxiety in answering parent's queries by talking with my peers and supervisors.
The challengesThe company has helped me to grow professionally by training me to be mentally prepared. if there is no mental preparation for the lessons, the children will be distracted and shows disinterest.

    Waste of time
The good thingsBest colleagues and fun students
The challengesBad management. Be it the cluster head, centre heads or the senior cluster head. They are all deciding decision for their own benefits. Didnt think of staff welfare too. Always pushing staffs around. Low salary which is not parallel to the things we are doing & education. HR always changing. Payday is never on time.

    Painfully Rewarding
The good thingsThe only thing I enjoyed working at the After School Care under NASCANS is the children. The rewarding experience comes from the students.
The challengesThe colleagues. It is as political as it is in administrative sectors. Colleagues(Not under leadership roles) basically get to say whether you should be staying or leaving. Inexperienced centre managers can lead to micro-management as well.

    Extreme loathe for this organisation
The good thingsWhatever good there was, will be swept under the carpet eventually
The challengesThey are not interested in staff welfare. It's all about enrolment and ridiculous budget cutting. Extremely toxic organisation. An employer who doesn't listen and only believes in her way. Staff turn over rate is extremely high. HQ lacks efficiency, always slow and messy. Seriously bad organisation.

Adapting and learning lots of new perspectives.
The good thingsLearnt that every student and child is different. There are many ways of handling them, some will look up to you while some will dislike you. But most importantly is that you have their best interest at heart. As for colleagues, adapting to the environment will always be hard, but with a few close ones who support you you'll make it through.
The challengesThe politics of both centers that i have been in has been a little worse than i thought. Constant pressure of doing more things that you aren't even meant to be doing, constant criticism by others if you do not follow a certain way or their way. Communications could be improved better for us to work peacefully with one another.

If you love kids you will go far.
The good thingsThe environment. The kids.
The challengesStricter rules in thd particular school I worked at which limits what you can work with your students but it's a good thing in a way because it helps you to make the best of what you have.

Company always talk about budget when ask for increment. Not worth the work load. More like they make use of staff. But afterall really depends who is ur head cluster and CH.
The good thingsGood colleagues and students that keep you coming back
The challengesShort of manpower. have to do other work when its not in your jobscope.

A Positive Environment and Cohesive Team Spirit
The good thingsA positive environment and cohesiveness amongst the team and leaders are what shape NASCANS to be who we are in the marketplace and recognition in the industry today. It is truly a pleasure to be part of this amazing team.
The challengesSome of the common challenges include dealing with difficult customers, which is common for a service provider. However, these challenges have also improved our skills and shaped us to who we are as an individual and team collectively. Challenges are everywhere, but I see opportunities in every difficult situation.
