Good working environment and very friendly colleagues
The good thingsGood prospects and benefits. Chances for advancements and the Polytechnic is taking care of the potential of individual for moving to higher grade in terms of work. One may also have chances to upgrade himself for the purpose of better his job performance.
The challengesOne to work very hard to accomplish the goal of performing well. The assessment of every staff member is based on his performance in his work and the overall achievement of the results. You will be rewarded for your hard work and final results. I personally got my results recognized and rewarded accordingly in my years of service in Ngee Ann Polytechnic and I am quite satisfied with the incentives being given as deserved.

Good place to work. You can retire here!
The good thingsVery relaxing environment. Everyone takes care of their own work, which is not very demanding. There are many staff here. The distribution of job means everyone does a bit of work, and not a lot more. Because of that, it is very common to see that nearly every admin staff in the Polytechnic is pursuing some kind of part-time course (undergraduate, Masters, etc), because they are so much time in their hands. Their day-to-day job is not demanding.
The challengesNot much challenges working for this company. If you want a slow pace of life, you should join this company. You should retire here! However, if you want to learn new things, this is not the company to work long-term. You won't learn much, particularly if you are young and adventurous. 75% of the staff here has worked for more than 15 years. Some for more than 30 years. It is a place to go slow and easy. Close your eyes, and you can still do your job!

Good staff benefits, however employment scheme too rigid
The good thingsGood staff benefits. Being a statboard, the staff are entitled to all civil servants' benefits too. As what many will say \"Iron rice bowl\" however it still depends on each individual department and the type of management team running the team. Can be slightly difficult to achieve work-life balance for some as shortage of manpower (due to budget issues) can pose a potential factor for people leavin
The challengesReview the work load in the department and employ more manpower to strike a better balance. Promotion opportunities are little. Would be good if staff feels more recognised.
