Pros and Cons of working here
The good thingsClose partnership and strong support from cross functional team. Many sessions held to keep up to date with knowledge Industry leader - job security
The challengesCrazy, high demands, questionable management. If you enjoy being just a tool to be manipulated as how the management deems , by all means join.

    Firefighting at its finest
The good thingsMost seniors are welcoming and helpful to newcomers even while serving their notice periods. Office location is conveniently located to MRT.
The challengesUnrealistic KPI targets by management in which many factors are beyond TS control. The high turnover rate results in remaining TS having to take on extra workload w/o any further incentive or recognition which leads to a vicious cycle.

    Exciting career opportunities available
The good thingsThere are a lot of opportunities available for employees to learn and gain valuable experiences and knowledge in the booming genomics industry. People in the office are friendly and open to collaboration. You also get exposure to collaborating with colleagues from different countries. Remuneration and benefits match the market benchmark. A good company that allows fresh graduates and entry levels to learn and gain knowledge in the genomics industry for future career progression
The challengesSteep learning curve for people who do not have job experience. Employees need to learn and understand the different working cultures when collaborating with overseas colleagues.

    Revolving Door - In Out
The good thingsEasy to get in as fresh grad even if from private uni and get to practice speaking and reading chinese daily.
The challengesNo career progression, lab managers are all hired internally in from China, repetitive and boring work, indecisive management that always backtrack on their words.

A growing company with global exposure
The good thingsEveryone works closely with each other in this company. When there are new projects or issues with the projects, colleagues of different teams will support each other. Employees here get exposure across a wide range of NGS products and technologies. Cross department transfer is greatly encouraged here and our head of departments will look out for opportunity for employees to learn different functions for their career development.
The challengesAMEA comprises of employees across multiple countries and this means that we have to adapt to the multicultural working environment within the company. There are many things to learn and everyone is constantly improving. As we are providing service as our bread and butter, there are chances that employees might need to work extra hours and especially our lab officers, they will have to put in extra efforts to finish their experiments to meet the timeline.

Poor reimbursement with tonnes of workload
The good thingsEveryone in the company was nice and helpful to one another and always with a great team
The challengesOften received ridiculous work and demand from HQ when it was about to knock off. Often received samples from other countries during festive season.

A place to gain various experience if you have intiative. A multinational company with global aspirations.
The good thingsGlobal company based in Tianjin, with multiple subsidiaries in US, EU and ASEAN region. Responsive and flexible management, good for the DIY applicant. Able to gain a global prospect, and industrially relevant skill-set. A company that gives you the skills to progress further into the industry. Ideal for that suitable fresh graduate. Fast paced. Quarterly targets, reviews, proactive leadership / management, and yearly performance review.
The challengesHigh chance of shift work, self-direct learning is expected, steep or gradual learning curve (depends on which period you join). Higher stress level, being a local lab targeting global cliental. Work will be more suitable for a detail oriented individual, able to prioritize task efficiently, good time management is a plus.
