The challenges1. Providing direct support to vessels;
2. Overseeing maintenance and repairs of vessels;
3. Preparing, monitoring and controlling budget for assigned vessels;
4. Maintaining the safe and efficient operation of all engineering related functions;
5. Attends vessel for any major breakdown;
6. Conducts vessel visits and inspections, ensuring vessels are maintained and complying with all relevant standards;
7. Liaising with external authorities including flag, class and port state regulatory bodies;
8. Monitoring vessel efficiency and environmental performance;
9. Monitoring Planned Maintenance System (PMS) for execution of work;
10. Monitoring and developing layup work specifications using Ship Net Layup Planner;
11. Reviewing all SOS forms submitted by their assigned vessels and ensuring that all SOS events are reported promptly;
12. Conducting monthly reviews of assigned vessels’ Planned Maintenance to ensure that established KPIs are being maintained;
13. Preparing and supervising dry-docking and related surveys and inspections;
14. Arranging and managing the work of shore side contractors;
15. Prepare reports for senior management as needed;
16. Plan for changes to schedules and policies;
17. Liaising with the Sales & Traffic department to identify customer service requirements;
18. Working with the Fleet Personnel department for the purposes of recruiting, training and scheduling Chief Engineers and engineering officers and ensures assignments met regulatory and company standards in terms of certification and experience;
19. Coordinating efforts with both the Logistics and Purchasing departments to ensure the required supplies/equipment is delivered to the ship in the most efficient way possible;
20. Preparing performance documents and conducting in-person performance reviews for all Key officers such as Master and Chief Engineers;
