The challengesWorkload on the employees are quite a burden which can lead to stressful lives. You have to be resilient to do well at first but it will become easier

Leader in the industry
The good thingsSchlumberger is the leading company in its industry. It exposes an accountant to big companies with big revenues and operations around the world. I handled African countries which opened me to working with people of different nationalities and culture.
The challengesSince it is a shared service setup, we have to work on shifts depending on the country you are handling. Also you communicate with people on the location through phone and emails only.

Company training program
The good thingsIt is the forerunner in HTHP product.
The company provide comprehensive training to bring up new hire to understand company culture and company involvement in the O&G industry. The training program usually last for 18 months, and the candidates are assigned to several location throughout the world. Upon graduation, new hire could select jobs that he likes, not necessary tied to his study.
The challengesFrequent job rotation could groom future leaders who has broad scope. However, this also resulted shortage in expert in the field. New hire don't stay for the same job for more than 3 years. This shortfall is particularly severe in R&D division.
