Work if you want to have a slower learning pace and if you're interested in community nursing. Otherwise, it's better to start your career in a more bigger established hospital.
The good thingsCohesive teamwork culture, big working spaces.
The challengesDespite being a very new hospital building (ie 7 years old), there's indirectly emphasis of being a jack of all trades than being the master of none. Too much foreign nurses and HR badly assumes that everyone is a foreigner (including locals). Experience miscommunications which can be frustrating from someone who comes from a more established hospital where standards are consistent.

    A place of immense growth
The good thingsSupportive work culture and patient supervisors helped in building up my growth as an employee and my work ethic.
The challengesDue to the strictness and heavy workload of being in the Healthcare finance industry, it might be difficult to ask for help at times.

as an ex-staff(AE) at Sengkang Hospital, applied various AE positions but HR didnt even consider me nor given a chance for interview, spoken to the HR personnel during recruitment drive however they just not interested to give an specific answer. the positions posted at Jobstreet are keep repeating. should be contented that there's local applying for healthcare job but its another round, they simply not interested in ex-staff application.
The good thingsgood health benefits, work life balance, work hard n play hard, lots of mindfulness programme
The challengesas an contract staff, the department head expected you to contribute like Perm staff. when the contract ended they would just say no extension. at the operations of huge department, Senior staff will tend to ignore nor provide guidance, everyday is high peak, busy from start to end of the day. different department have different working time and day

    A great place to work
The good thingsThe hospital is new. Culture is new. Organisation is receptive to feedback. Management is patient with the growing culture.Good team spirit. Emphasis of mindfulness. Situated at a convenient location. Easy access by public transport and car (expressway).
The challengesShift work. Variety of food is limited. Exposure to pandemics is unavoidable. Exposure to impatient customer. Need to work with a very large spectrum of co-workers. Re-numeration-wise can be better.

    Unsupportive Environment.
The good thingsOffice hours. Courteous top management. Friendly frontline colleagues.
The challengesDisunity among the departments. People pretending to know stuff when they don't. People are unwilling to share knowledge but expect you to answer their questions. People expect you to answer queries after office hours but refuse to answer yours. Lack of direction and clear objectives. Taking on too much unnecessary work and expecting perfection when manpower is overstretched.

New healthcare institution with old mentality
The good thingsThere are always opportunities for planning, creating, developing, testing and implementing new work processes. Excellent environment to gain new experiences, as good as building and moving into a new home.
The challengesManagement claimed to be open to suggestions but turn deaf when you present a new idea. If that is not bad enough, someone more favourable may take credit for an idea you put up earlier. Expectation is quite high; with small fraction of phone allowance, you can be expected to answer calls 24/7. Don't forget to bring back your laptop. Otherwise, you can use your personal mobile device to check work emails.

    Serve customer from heart
The good thingsI enjoy meeting new customer daily and serve them from heart. This is important cause we can build a relationship with our customer. On top of that i enjoy working as Team and individual. I beleif if we communicate & make an effort to understand each of our staff character, we can work healthy without any argument or miscommunications.
The challengesI dont really enjoy working shift. And also we have to stand in for another few hours if staff unable to make it to work.
