The good thingsGood colleague support. Colleagues who are able to give clear instructions. The supervisor (Deputy Director) gives good advice. She is kind to subordinates and provides good guidance.
The challengesInsufficient IT support. But it's compensated by efficient senior staff and the cooperation of the team.

The good thingsDo as much testing as possible. Try to focus on the job as this will also help you learn on what to do when you work for a company outside an educational institute.
The challengesHaving to submit lengthy reports without understanding the questions.

    Good working environment.
The good thingsIt provides ample opportunities to learn and upgrade yourself.
The challengesThere is job responsibilities rotation for about every 5 years. They will assign new responsibilities to you base on your weakest competence. It can improve your knowledge and skill for better chances to get a next job in future..

The good things1. Great colleagues and co-workers 2. Half yearly government bonus
The challengesa. slow annual increment, especially if you're a non-degree holder b. promotion is as limited as it comes c. high value performers tend to take up a lot more roles and upskilling a lot d. cross department collaborations and process improvements are challenging to initiate due to resistance to changes (do not fix whats not broken mindset)

    Okay working experience in SP
The good thingsGood work place to wait for retirement. No hard goals and directions as all direction is top down and roles given are easy. No additional requirement for work and everyone is well protected from any hiccups.
The challengesLack of direction and focus in management. Show the lack of competency and understanding of industries and know-how. As direction is from top-down, nothing actually changes and pace of life is slow. No future sight. Most employees belong to slow and past century mindset. No way to improve oneself and lots of restriction for growth.

    Nice people and environment.
The good thingsRecognise staff who put in effort in their work, good teamwork and understanding boss. Boss is willing to listen to the staff and implement improvement to simplify the job and so lessen the work load to achieve the ultimate goal.
The challengesA very conducive environment with canteens at reasonable prices. Perhaps may consider more part-time employment to cater to work-life balance and students on vacation.

    Review for SP
The good thingsFlexibility with teaching and with varied projects as a lecturer. Supportive management and great camaraderie amongst colleagues. Good working environment overall, although rather stressful.
The challengesThe administrative work is considerable and often done at the expense of class preparation and teaching. Lack of budget for AV equipment needed for teaching my course.
