Fair and AppreciativeThe good thingsI had been away from the workforce for more than a year, due to pregnancy and childbirth. This was the only employer that looked favorably on me and offered me a position with fair remuneration. They looked beyond paper qualifications, appreciating an individual's work experiences, aptitude, and learning enthusiasm in their consideration.
Opportunities for career development are available, and there are currently scholarships available to those who are interested to pursue their passion for community nursing.
There is good work-life balance, due to the office hours arrangement and proximity of work to home. Where possible, staffs are allocated to a branch nearest to home, cutting down travel time, and allowing staff to attend to personal needs/life.
Working environments and relationships are good - you have to manage patients and their caregivers of course but that is part of the job.
The challengesI have so far, no bad experiences to report. Any challenges exist in all we do or engage in, and challenges are necessary to motivate the individual, provide meaning and purpose, as well as contribute to the development of the individual. A year-long hiatus from the workforce, meant I had to work extra hard to get up to pace with everyone else, and everyone has been helpful and understanding so far.
